New Jerusalem Laura is a residential addiction recovery community located on the west side of North Philadelphia, where nearly 50% of the population suffers from drug or alcohol addiction.

We are a non-denominational spiritual community, focused on the principles of nonviolence, simplicity, and cooperative living.

We understand addiction as one part of a vast network of social injustices that are particularly profound in the "urban desert" of North Philadelphia. We are therefore deeply engaged with local, national, and international struggles for peace and justice.
